As you may know by now, we at Allmost have absolutely no chill.
Every inside joke and casual suggestion is always in danger of sparking our imaginations and consuming our entire lives...often for months on end. It is out of this incessant creative hunger and manic-inspiration that Art Basil was born.
Since it's our anniversary (happy one year to us!) we didn't hold back. We literally dove in head first and created a Augmented Reality app with our friends Superbright, YoungAdult and Emily Russell in partnership with our favorite street artist and illustrator Gabby Gonzales. This one of a kind augmented reality experience created a second dimension for the show; allowing for a fully-interactive layer of experience on top of the physical show. So, we now have an app in the App Store that's super easy to find and use! Search "Art Basil", look for our branding and download it now 🌿
The physical show featured work from some of our favorite artists on the theme of "plant life", plant-based installations, open studios and a ridiculously herbaceous bar featuring specialty cocktails (Arugula Gimlet anyone?). Everyone involved in Art Basil really brought their absolute best, and came together to transform our space in a big way. We are still reeling from the opening night and the week of lushness that followed.
We cannot thank the artists involved enough! We had the immense honor of showcasing the work of:
Cheryl Agustin, Theresa Baxter, Kate Biel, Steven Gerdts, Gabby Gonzales, Sohani Holland, Simonette Jackson, Julie Katske, KAMP Collective, Sarah Moseley, Emily Russell, Paula Searing, Nastya Valentine, YoungAdult
As well as magical open studios by many of the artists in residence.
