Join us for “Hallowed Rite” - a workshop on the magick of potions & the traditions of the
pagan holiday Samhain. Come celebrate the darkness with us. “As we enter into the dusk of the year, the beginning of winter translates into our lives, with more than just a seasonal change. There are lessons to be learned from the darkness. Samhain marks the beginning of the shift.
Death, darkness, endings. These are a few of the themes we can ruminate upon. Celtics believed our world came in closer contact with the spiritual realm during this time of year. Death can be interpreted literally, and if you have lost someone this year, you may honor them during Samhain. Yet, death can take on many meanings. What, or who, have you let go of this year? What negative patterns, dark elements within yourself have you surrendered? Honor what has come and gone, honor what has turned to dust.
We celebrate the harvest. We celebrate what we have gained this year. We bless the
positive changes in our lives. As the days grow shorter and nights are prolonged, we are
given the time to take a step back and enter a period of retrospection. Samhain is the
ceremonial festival to rejoice in this.”
A quote from Eliot Cowan on plant spirits, “Plant spirit medicine is the shaman’s way
with plants. It recognizes that plants have spirit and that spirit is the strongest medicine.
Spirit can heal the deepest reaches of the heart and soul.”
In this three hour workshop & ritual, we will focus on:
- Circle Casting
- Plant Magick Meditation (with two nourishing herbs)
- Sound Bath/Ritual using sacred smoke
- Potion Making
- Closing Ritual (to honor the deceased)
